Yuba County inmate search and jail information

Yuba County's official inmate search is hosted on the county's services domain. Its opening disclaimer warns that information may contain errors, omissions or delays and carries no guarantee of accuracy or completeness. A missing result should not be treated as proof that someone was never booked or has been released. Use the person's full name and any booking details you already have, then confirm the identity and housing information with the Sheriff's Office before making arrangements.

The Sheriff's Jail Division operates the county jail within the Marysville courthouse complex. Its population includes sentenced prisoners and people awaiting trial or sentencing. Although the jail and court share the Fifth Street building address, their published suite numbers and visitor access instructions differ. Yuba County and neighboring Sutter County are separate custody systems: an arrest in Yuba City is not a Marysville arrest simply because the communities are close together. Confirm which side of the county boundary and which arresting agency are involved.

How to search for someone in custody

Start with the custody information published by the Yuba County Sheriff's Office. Have the person's full legal name and, ideally, a date of birth ready. If an online lookup is available, compare identifying details rather than relying on a name alone. If you obtain a booking number, keep it with your notes for later questions to jail staff, the court, or an attorney.

Jail facilities

  • Yuba County Jail, courthouse complex, Sixth Street between B and C Streets, Marysville, CA 95901. Visitor access is on the courthouse's north side at basement level. The published administrative address is 215 Fifth Street, Suite 150; it is not the inmate-mail address.

Visiting, phone calls and mail

Visits depend on the inmate's cell assignment, not a single countywide arrival time. Check the Sheriff's official visiting schedule before traveling. Visitors must register with the visiting clerk before the visiting period begins; late arrivals are not guaranteed a full visit. Basement visitor access includes stairs and an elevator. Use the agency's current inmate-mail and communication instructions rather than the court or jail's administrative mailing address.

Court and bail

Criminal cases here are handled by the Superior Court of California, County of Yuba (215 Fifth Street, Suite 200, Marysville, CA 95901).

The Sheriff's posting-bail page lists U.S. currency, cashier's checks and money orders, with checks and money orders payable to Yuba County Jail. It says the department accepts the entire bail amount and directs users to the jail lobby control-room deputy. Inmate-account deposits are described separately; do not assume a commissary deposit posts bail or establishes a release time. Confirm eligibility for release on the complete booking, including any holds, before making a payment.

Common questions

Is the Fifth Street address the visiting entrance?

The published visiting directions identify the courthouse's back side on Sixth Street between B and C Streets, with visits at basement level. Check current access instructions before traveling.

Does the locator promise immediate booking updates?

No. Its disclaimer expressly includes possible delays and incomplete information; it does not establish a guaranteed booking-to-publication interval.

Can I use the jail's administrative address for inmate mail?

The Jail Division expressly labels that address as being for mail other than inmate mail. Consult the official inmate-mail instructions instead.
